🏀 STARTING FIVE
Heading into the weekend, the Lady Dores (14-3) will pack their bags to battle an undefeated No. 6 LSU Tigers team (17-0) on the road:
This week, Tigers duo Flau’jae Johnson and Aneesah Morrow were named to the top-25 Midseason Wooden Award Watchlist
Johnson is scoring 19.7 points per game to rank No. 5 in the SEC this season
So far this season, she has four double-doubles, two of which she scored 20+ points and is the only SEC guard with multiple 20-point double-doubles
Morrow leads the nation with 15 double-doubles and with 14.0 rebounds per game
Pouring 18.1 points and 2.65 steals per game, she ranks No. 6 in the SEC in both categories
Last night, the 2023 national champions downed the Tennessee Lady Vols as Morrow led the team with 23 points to officially reach 2,500+ points in her collegiate career
The forward also claimed 21 rebounds
Men’s Basketball (13-2) butt heads with Missouri (12-3) to kick off the weekend before hosting South Carolina (10-5) next Wednesday:
In the team’s SEC home opener, Missouri downed LSU, 83-67, as senior Tamar Bates tallied 20 points, eight rebounds, and three steals
Missouri shot 46.3 percent on the night and roughly 50% from behind the arc, also winning the battle on the glass, 37-29, and at the free-throw line, 21-13
A team with great defensive ability, Mizzou forced the Tigers into seven turnovers in the first nine minutes of play to eventually go on an 11-0 run
Closing out the first half of the season, South Carolina sophomore Collin Murray-Boyles mounted 22 points to lead the Gamecocks past Presbyterian, 69-59
The star forward went 6-10 shots from the floor and 10-14 from the charity stripe, adding nine rebounds
